Horizontal Well Drilling
This leading edge technology enables the contractor to place a single horizontal or liquid product recovery well into the contaminated zone in a very narrow vertical plane.
This technology has been used in the Oil Industry as well as the Environmental Industry with overwhelming success.
F.W.S. has participated with a major government financed group in the installation of pilot research and development wells that have been placed in high security government facilities. These installations used F.W.S. high strength Fiberglass Reinforced Epoxy Well Casing and Screens resulting in recovery systems that successfully met the operating criteria where other materials failed.
F.W.S. has a full range of 2" through 8" materials that can withstand the rigors of this type of installation with acceptable bend radii, high range of collapse pressures and axial and tensile strengths. ( All specifications to ASTM standards.)
F.W.S.Inc manufactures two types of Casing and Screens for this type of installation:
1) "Pull" installations where a significantly higher Tensile strength is required. This is I.J. ( Integral Joint ) Casing with the Coupling wound as part of the Pipe. This results in extremely high Tensile strength but, it is limited due to the manufacturing constraint, of long, ( usually 30') and the slotted portion has to be custom designed for the well .
2) "Push"installations where the Casing is pulled behind the Drill Bit and installed as it is drilled. The Flush Threaded ( F-480 ) joints are used and heavily reinforced and these are usually "Blind Wells". The advantage of this type is that the Casing/Screen can be much shorter; ( F.W.S.Inc manufactures the material in ALL the standard Casing lengths and can also custom make, virtually, any length required.)
This is very valuable when access is restricted and long Casing can't be used.
F.W.S.inc. can custom Slot the Casing to very exact specifications and comply with the most rigorous and exacting designs for "Sparge "Wells and so forth.
The materials are readily available and very cost effective for this type of installation.
Material can be factory slotted with slots as small as 0.010"* and can be custom configured to the clients' specifications.
